Wiping a blackberry with an IT policy

Two days after the Nokia E72 post, i found a blackberry 9720.  Well, i didn't really find it because i took it from a recycling bin. When i booted up it was wiped to factory settings, i thought. I would later find out the IT policy was still on. Now this isn't such a big problem because the company that owned this phone is gone now. But i still wanted to wipe it entirely. I downloaded drivers + the blackberry OS7.1 desktop app (7.1 again???), and connected my 9720. It didn't get recognized by the application. I found an article on crackberry that contained a fix with a different .xml(listed with the properties, checksum and a config for athe 9720) file, but the site which the .xml file was stored on was down. After some digging and using google as my search engine i found an old .xml link on the archived site of blackberry. I downloaded it, swapped it with the old .xml file & connected my phone. It worked! So i wiped the phone to REAL factory settings and now the policy is gone.
